The child in the making

In September 2020, in Val-David, a small municipality in the Laurentians, one hour north of Montreal, the Perseides Adapted Classroom opened its doors in the Imagine School.
After two wonderful years of operation, in August 2022, we metamorphosed and became a Learning Center. We now welcome children who have difficulty finding their place in the current educational system. We provide a space to welcome them as they are, so that they can benefit from an education adapted to their needs for movement, belonging, understanding and healing in order to reach their full potential.
Their challenges become doorways for the educator to grasp the children's true potential. All children are different, and this diversity is a salutary contribution requiring us to broaden and enliven our vision. Children show us a range of human possibilities that are only waiting to better meet the complexities of tomorrow's society in order to make their contribution.
Steiner-Waldorf Pedagogy
This worldwide educational movement finds its foundations in an anthropology expanded to include spiritual dimensions, as developed in the last century by Rudolf Steiner, of which Waldorf pedagogy, biodynamics and anthroposophical medicine are some of its concrete applications.

In the Perseids program, this approach is also central, to accompany each child in his or her development.
The adapted program Les Perséides is made up of a maximum of 9 children so that each child can better develop his or her own academic and social skills.

The daily arts and crafts practice allows the child to connect, through their feelings and experiences, more deeply with their learning.
