A New Eye

"Autonomy, what does it mean? To learn, what is the way to get there?

When a child starts school, we think that he is already autonomous. In this context, it seems normal, that you go to school, and you start..., and you learn..., and everything is fine. But this is not the normal life, because in every school there are many children who need help and the human being needs other human beings. And each one has possibilities that are already autonomous, and other possibilities that are not yet autonomous.
And "autonomy" means, "I myself am..., I myself have the possibility to conduct my activities, my life, my feelings, my profession...". And the human being is not a machine: to be born, and then to be ready, while it is necessary to have several years to have this growth of the autonomy. And auto-nomy, means "myself", not the car, but, myself. So the car is self-kinetic, self-moving. So 'myself'..."

An education
related to the concrete

"The explicit purpose of the Free Waldorf School is to help children become creative, independent, and responsible individuals, who are capable on their own to give purpose and direction to their lives."

A place to live
learning from life

"We are from Montreal, where we knocked on every door possible for over 7 years to find real, living, human support for our little girl who was suffering inside. Unfortunately, our journey was painful and our daughter was now suffering.
Our quest led us here, to the small village of Val-David, where the heart of Imagine School was beating so strongly. We knew right away that we had come to the right place. For our daughter as well as for our two boys. Our three children have found their place in such a rich environment and are surrounded by adults who have a deep understanding of child development and human nature. The Waldorf pedagogy and the Perseid Classroom go beyond our expectations and our children live an enriching experience every day."

"
For us, Les Perséides class is ideal, first because it follows the Waldorf curriculum and its program is rich and respectful of our child's rhythm. Secondly, because its educators are passionate about children with different backgrounds. Also, because there are more periods outside and even on farm environments, which will help our son to better connect to himself and his environment. The values of caring and community that are taught here are very important to us in order for our child to become an adult who contributes positively to his community."
